Anti-Condensation/Heat-Insulating/Flameproof/Sound-Absorbent/ Decorative
GRITE® its primary material is vermiculite, form of low-grade mica, found in vein approximately 30mm thick. Heat rapidly to a temperature of some 1000°C, the moisture contained in these micro-stratums evaporates, causing the vermiculite to expand to ten times its original volume.Gold vermiculite is taken from Fukushima Prefecture mine located in Japan and white vermiculite is imported from Africa.
As it consists of innumerable air pockets, it is light-weight and has many applications as a high quality heat insulating, moisture absorbent, fire and sound proofing material. An inorganic mineral, it will not decay or give rise to odors. Since it is a form of mica, it can serve as electrical insulating material and sparkles with a lovely tone.
The high surface area of Grite Vermiculite allows it to carry a greater amount of material. Furthermore, its absorption capacity is not limited by its surface area. Grite Vermiculite has a unique structure which enables absorption interstitially, or between the layers of the vermiculite particle.
Grite vermiculite is a spray-applied formulation 100% free from asbestos and mineral fibers, polystyrene, and cellulose. Grite vermiculite is a highly abuse resistant (impact, abrasion, moisture, hostile, industrial environments), has excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates, allows substrates to breathe, and can be readily cleaned by a variety of methods.
